RESTON, Virginia, July 2, 2003 - CyBiz Inc., a leading provider of integrated supplier enablement and procurement solutions, announced today that Dimension Data Holdings plc (LSE: DDT), a global technology company, has expanded its contract with CyBiz to offer online ordering capabilities to more Fortune 100 and mid-cap customers. Dimension Data's solution, Dimension Data Direct, can integrate with customers' e-procurement solutions, such as Ariba Buyer, and offers real-time access for customers to configure and submit electronic orders of IT products and services.
Dimension Data purchased a license of the CyBiz Supplier Enablement solution in September 2002. The company needed an e-commerce solution that could accommodate the disparate buying practices and systems of its global customers. Several of its customers, in both North America and Europe, had implemented e-procurement solutions to drive operational efficiencies across their organizations. To better serve these customers, Dimension Data desired an e-commerce capability that provided electronic catalogs within and across global regions for individual customer
e-procurement solutions.
In the first phase of the contract, CyBiz delivered a fully customized and integrated solution that reengineered the quoting, order management and order fulfillment processes for Dimension Data. This next phase of the contract will expand the Master License and Professional Services agreement to add an unlimited number of global customers to the Dimension Data Direct site.
The solution provides real-time access to customers and Dimension Data to configure products online from multiple vendors and submit electronic orders. The solution also supports unique customer and country specific requirements regarding logistics, shipping options, currency and exchange rates, and services charges.
While customers can still contact Dimension Data directly to have an order processed, this solution provides customers with "self-service" capabilities to execute and track orders independent of support from Dimension Data. Dimension Data Direct also allows customers to purchase pre-bundled,
pre-configured services and products solutions, further facilitating procurement efforts.
Dimension Data Direct will benefit customers using a third-party
e-procurement solution and customers without an e-procurement system. For customers using a third-party e-procurement solution, employees can access Dimension Data Direct to configure and purchase their products while still using their internal approval processes within their e-procurement solution. For customers without an e-procurement solution, Dimension Data Direct
--powered by CyBiz--will offer full procurement capabilities with a powerful workflow engine that replicates any procurement process. The ordering processes between the customer and Dimension Data will be integrated, improving the speed and accuracy of orders.
"The capabilities that CyBiz brings to the table allows Dimension Data to focus on the right solution, with less emphasis on making the technology work," stated Mike Brown, managing director for global solutions, Dimension Data. "CyBiz's functionality, cost of ownership, and architecture flexibility set CyBiz apart. We are looking to take this solution forward on a global basis to address business needs across all regions."
Because several of Dimension Data's customers have implemented
e-procurement solutions, flexibility and proven integration capabilities were requirements. The solution, with its underlying architecture built using Microsoft BizTalk Server and the .NET infrastructure, allows Dimension Data to adapt to any communication protocol a customer or trading partner may use within a matter of days. This flexibility offers Dimension Data a faster and more cost-effective deployment as opposed to enforcing a standard on trading partners, which can make the deployment schedule longer and more expensive.
Bill Gollan, president and CEO, CyBiz, stated "Dimension Data represents the ideal customer for CyBiz. We have worked together as partners in the deployment of Dimension Data Direct. Their global presence in 30 countries offers CyBiz the opportunity to implement our multi-currency and multi-regional capabilities while also proving our fast and efficient integration capabilities to connect Dimension Data Direct to other e-procurement solutions and supplier systems."
