 RESTON, Virginia, April 21, 2003 - CyBiz Inc., a leading provider of integrated supplier enablement and procurement solutions, announced today that the CyBiz solution with partner Tate Bramald was one of three finalists for the 2003 Microsoft European Retail Application Developer (RAD) Award in the Supply Chain Solutions category.
The European RAD Awards is an annual competition spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) that recognizes application developers who make the best use of Microsoft technology to provide business value to their customers in the retail industry. The fourth edition of the prestigious award ceremonies was held in Paris, France on the evening of April 9, 2003 in conjunction with the Global Retail Technology Forum.
The CyBiz UK partner, Tate Bramald, was one of three finalists in the Supply Chain Solutions category. Entrants had to demonstrate the successful development of Enterprise Application Integration and Enterprise Partner Integration utilizing Microsoft technologies such as BizTalk Server.

As part of the entry, Tate Bramald showcased a solution developed and implemented by CyBiz and Tate Bramald for Avenance, one of the UK's top four contract caterers. The web-based procurement solution enables Avenance to:
- Enhance efficiency in processing high volumes of transactions;
- Interface directly with suppliers over the Internet; and
- Improve management and analysis of purchasing data.
The CyBiz solution based on Microsoft technologies serves as the central solution for Avenance to process more than 60,000 invoices a month quickly and efficiently. Invoice and procurement information entered by Avenance at its remote sites are automatically pushed into CyBiz via the Internet and then integrated into Microsoft Great Plains for validation and payment.
Information from CyBiz and Great Plains is fully integrated using Microsoft BizTalk Server. Data is stored in a central data warehouse, which in turn is used for business intelligence reporting and can be accessed via a web browser at any location. In the final phase of the project, CyBiz and Tate Bramald will link Avenance’s suppliers electronically into CyBiz, which will provide the company with further savings and efficiencies.
